dancing with the birds
I’m really bad at persuading people to watch stuff but if I could get one person to watch this movie I’ll be happy enough (not really, I wish I could clockwork-orange this movie to everyone I know).
I’m talking about Dancing with the Birds, an adorable 2019 documentary about birds. I know it doesn’t sound like a super fun watch, not everyone likes nature documentaries, but this one is different. It IS fun. And adorable. It follows different birds of paradise and their bold (and sometimes failed) attempts to attract potential mates. And let me tell you, they are adorable, they are beautiful, they are majestic and, most of all, they are incredibly talented. Really.
They are drag queens. They are dancers. They are musicians. They are architects and interior designers. And they go above and beyond to seduce a lady. And did I mention adorable?
If the birds themselves weren’t enough, the documentary is very well and humorously narrated by Stephen Fry and it has a great soundtrack that only make things… well, even more adorable and fun (sorry)! We follow the birds almost like it’s a romcom, but cuter, and we can only hope to find a human version of MacGregor’s Bowerbird for ourselves.
I promise you’ll be surprise with how much you’ll love a documentary about birds.
And I know I probably didn’t do a good job convincing anyone with this, but maybe this gif will. and if not, maybe you just don't deserve it! (but please, do watch it anyways)
